This exterior treatment is a traditional Japanese method of wood preservation. This method makes the wood water-proof & fire retardant as well as protects against insects - not to mention it looks sick as……well, it’s pretty sick.

Our windows are 1/2” thick - it’s probably overkill, but that’s what we do: Over do and over build.
The 6 foot round window is a a huge surface area. The thckness of the glass helps to retain heat which helps efficiency & temperature management.
